“In the spring I have counted one hundred and thirty-six different kinds of weather inside of four and twenty hours.” ~ Mark Twain
Mr. Twain, we could not have said it better ourselves! Just when we thought we were through with our Sorels, shovels, and winter tires…
Still, neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow could keep the following volunteers from their appointed posts:
Looking forward to April, the Guild would like you to mark your calendars with the following:

Parent Guild 30th Anniversary Fashion Show & Fundraiser
I have been asked by the Parent Guild to remind our St. Paul’s families of the upcoming 30th Anniversary Fashion Show, in support of the Magis Fund.
"Magis" is a Latin word that means "more" or "better." In particular, it refers to the Ignatian philosophy of doing more for Christ, and thus, for others.
The St. Paul’s High School Magis Fund was established to provide financial assistance to students who cannot otherwise afford to fully participate in school life. Lunch money, bus tickets, band instrument rentals, sports equipment, tutors, school trips, school attire, and graduation costs are some of the many areas of need.
You may not be aware that one in seven St. Paul’s students currently receives bursary assistance. Last year, ninety-one deserving students were awarded $500,000 in tuition. The Magis Fund compliments this program and the long-standing Jesuit tradition of helping any student and family in need.
As the sole generator of revenue for the Magis Fund, the St. Paul’s Fashion Show is extremely important. Unfortunately, attendance has decreased over the past couple of years, and thus, proceeds have declined. This is a real shame. If you have never attended a show before, you will find that the quality is on par with the Guardian Angel Benefit and similar events in Winnipeg. Our committee works extremely hard to provide a delicious meal, a professional show, and fabulous auction prizes. Because this year is our 30th Anniversary, special surprises have also been added.
I would like to personally urge each and every family to support the 2016 Fashion Show & Fundraiser. This can be done in three ways:
On behalf of the St. Paul’s Parent Guild Fashion Show Committee and our Magis Fund recipients, I thank you.
Your support changes lives.
